Prospects for New Technology Development
"The current pricing mechanism makes it difficult to achieve the set targets. To increase the share of natural gas in consumption and meet target production, we must continue to accelerate market-oriented reform of the natural gas sector. We should strengthen oversight, break up industry monopolies, reduce distribution and transmission costs in the gas supply chain, and lower gas costs for downstream users. Furthermore, from the downstream market perspective, although the winter supply gap in the natural gas market has narrowed significantly in recent years, tight winter peaking conditions persist in some regions, indicating that the government still needs to strengthen natural gas infrastructure development—among which the construction of storage and peak-shaving facilities is particularly important," said Qu Jing, an analyst at Shandong Chengxin Information.
In addition, we should promptly review the current price levels and charging models at every stage domestically, formulate reasonable fee policies, rationalize the pricing system, and gradually complete the market-oriented reform of the natural gas sector.
